Tonight I talked with several activists in Chicago and New York City about the legislative acions being put in place that would grant the largest telcom and cable lobbiest free reign to set up show anywhere in the U.S. without having to provide the basic \’public rights of way.\’ Most of all, the COPE Bill would eliminate network neatrality and allow these companies to decide which websites load quickly and which ones load slowly, bases on content and money paid for broadband use.
